It’s been a little over a year since the MIT Press launched Direct to Open (D2O) - a new model for scholarly frontlist books. D2O offers libraries an opportunity to switch from purchasing the MIT Press’s scholarly frontlist once, paywalled, for their collection to funding it once, open access, for the world. Join Amy Harris (Senior Manager, Library Relations and Sales) for a refresher on the model, an update on progress to date, and a discussion of lessons learned.
Amy Harris has held various positions at the University Press of Florida, the University Press of Kentucky, and The MIT Press. Her seventeen-year career in scholarly publishing has had a particular focus on expanding access to knowledge and library-press partnerships..
Please note: This event is for CAUL Member Library Staff only.
