CAUL has submitted its response to the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) pre-consultation on a proposed new research insights capability. CAUL welcomes the ARC’s intent to streamline research evaluation and strengthen engagement with libraries as key data providers and metadata experts.
In its submission, CAUL highlights the importance of applying FAIR and CARE principles to both data and publications, supporting open access, and recognising institutional repositories and CRIS systems as valuable data sources. CAUL also emphasises the need for consultation on implementation resourcing and policy alignment, and offered its expertise to support further development.
