Deputy University Librarians Network Community of Practice

The Deputy University Librarians Network provides a forum for Member institution staff in senior leadership positions to engage in collegial professional learning, knowledge and information sharing, and networking activities.

The Charter provides more information about the community of practice, including its purpose, scope, and participants’ roles and responsibilities.

Convenors

The network is co-convened by two CAUL Member institution staff appointed by the community from among its members. The current convenors are:

  • Antonia Mocatta, Director Central Services, University of Sydney Library
  • Liz Walkley Hall, Associate Director, Engagement and Scholarly Communications, Flinders University

Membership

Membership is open to deputy university librarians, who are the senior leaders who report directly to and deputise for the university librarian or equivalent. These tend to be Director, Deputy Director or Associate Director level roles.

The Network is not intended for other staff who report directly to the university librarian.

How to join

The university librarian or equivalent should contact the CAUL Office.

Meetings

In 2025, the group will meet bi-monthly. Meetings are listed in the CAUL Events directory.

Network members can edit their email list settings, view the list archives, and view a list of subscribers through the email list’s public page.

Please note that requests to join the email list sent via the email list’s public page will not be approved. Requests to join the community of practice must be sent to the CAUL Office by the university librarian or equivalent.
