CAUL has established engagement principles for its email lists to ensure these spaces are inclusive, welcoming and safe for all participants.
Email list Members agree to enact the following norms when using the CAUL email lists.
Email list members:
- subscribe to and participate via the email list in their capacity as staff of CAUL Member institutions
- must use an email address for a CAUL Member institution to subscribe to the email list
- agree to a transparent membership whereby
- all members include their name and institutional affiliation in the signature of all emails sent to the list
- all members agree to have their email addresses published on a list of subscribers visible to list members via the email list system
- do not post commercial messages on the email list; rather, they contact individuals directly with product and service information if they believe it would help them
- only forward correspondence from third parties to the email list with the express permission of the author, and always note that permission has been sought and provided
- engage respectfully using appropriate language.
