2022-2024
In 2021, CAUL identified equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) as a strategic priority. The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Survey Project was established as a first step in prioritising EDI. The intention was to fill a gap in the evidence base related to the diversity profile and state of EDI initiatives across the sector in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand so that future activities could be grounded in an empirical understanding of the current state of the sector.
The project had three objectives:
- Provide an understanding of the staffing profile of the university library sector.
- Develop an understanding of the current state of EDI work across the sector.
- Explore perceptions of CAUL member institution staff related to EDI.
Two surveys were undertaken in early 2023. The project report was published in September 2024.
